Halloween updates...a little late.

She loved playing with my scarf!
Our little girl from India. She was having too much fun with this thing.
Sorry I know its fuzzy, but I didn't get any good pics, just a good video. She walked around all evening saying "ruh ruh" (which is ruff ruff)
Thing 1 and Thing 2 for our ward halloween party! We were a little bummed at the false advertising for the blue hair spray. He had to be in the light and even then it looked a little more purple than blue.... :(   It was supposed to be the same color a my wig.
At "Boo at the Zoo" right before halloween. We were glad to go because Ryan hadn't gone to the zoo with us yet this year. We are hoping to get a pass for next year and hopefully maya will be old enough to enjoy it more. :)
Riding the tiger at the zoo, I think she was a little overwhelmed this day because there were SOO many kids at the zoo that day.  She was REALLY serious until about 10 min before we left when she was running through the leaves by herself.
Family Pic at the Zoo!

So yeah, I know I have been really bad about posting much lately, im not sure why. Life is going great other than Maya just threw my cell phone in the toilet this morning right before church AND after being up from 3:30 am on with a fever. Somehow our silly girl managed to muster up enough energy to tear my house apart as soon as she woke up :) It was one of those moments where I know I will look back and laugh, but Im not laughing quite yet. So if no one hears from me for a bit, just know its cause my phone was drowned in toilet water.
This last month has been a ton of fun with maya, she is talking so much and is becoming a monkey. I always knew that you had to "baby-proof" a house. No one told me that later on came the next step of "toddler proofing" That step has been highly motivated by this mornings incident.
We just celebrated our 3rd anniversary this last week!!! Its amazing how time flies and sometimes its kinda hard to think you ever weren't married because you are so much a part of each others lives. But it has been three great and FUN years. I knew when I married Ryan that life would never be boring and it hasn't been. He is my best friend and keeps me laughing even when things get stressful. I love watching him with Maya and lately they have become quite a pair. When maya gets in trouble (when Daddy isn't here) she runs to the front door and starts yelling "da da da da!" She knows he is a softy and he loves her so much.
Every night, when its getting close to bedtime, she will go and lay on Ryans chest with her blanket and just cuddle with him, oftentimes falling asleep with him. I love it, it makes my evening. I love my little family!

Corn Maize!!!

Me and wendy on the hay ride. It was a beautiful evening!
I think Raili makes a great "farmers wife." It was so good to have her here for my dads 50th birthday!
For anyone who knows my mother....she was in pure heaven in this thing!
Trying to find our way through the corn maze. It took about 30 min or so.
Camille helping maya on her first pony ride!  She wasn't quite sure what to think about it at first.
My mom is working at the corn maize this year again with my sisters Kaisa and Camille. They are in charge of the pony rides since they have been working with them for the past few months. Since they work there we get in for free which is awesome. It is such a family friendly place and I know I am going to be going there plenty through the month of October. I have already been there twice!

Maya had a lot of fun of the pony ride. It was her first time on a horse and was calling it a "dog" the whole time. So far dog means an actual dog or any animal that moves. (ex. pigs, cows, cats, goats)
It was my dads 50th birthday so Wendy and Raili were able to come for his birthday. It was so much fun! My dad is the best! its so great to have sister time as well.

It still fits!

Ryan with Maya at the fair with all the animals.
I really wanted to try one of those huge turkey legs, I'm a total meat person, but I was pretty disappointed in it. It had too many ligaments all in it. Bummer
I made this for my cousin Clarks little baby girl, I was able to go to her blessing in eastern Idaho. She is so beautiful!

I made this for one of my lessons on service...It was NOT worth the time. It looked easier in the book than it was. But it was still fun.

I was playing with maya in her room the other day and started looking at her blessing dress hanging up on the wall. The thought occured to me that she could probably still fit in it. Sure enough, she fits in it well and could probably fit in it for a few months more. It was a little big when she was blessed in it, but she has a tiny frame! I think she looks like a pioneer/milkmaid (with really fancy material) She had so much fun in it, I only kept it on about 5 minutes though cause i was afraid it would get dirty.

1 year pics!

So this photo session at Penney's went a lot better than last time-at least for the first half. She loved the stuffed dog that the photographer had. She was giving lots of smiles until I changed her outfit and then she decided it is more fun to just run off the set. I had fun though.

She had her one yeah app. today at the dr. and and she weighs a whopping 19 lbs...which is a big step up from 16.5 pounds that she was about 3 weeks ago. She has fallen in love with a bottle and drinks milk constantly. I haven't stopped her since she was near the zero percentile for her height/weight a few weeks ago, but now she is around the 15th percentile. I am very happy. She had a hard time adjusting from nursing, but is doing great now!

All sorts of things...

So its been a crazy last month but things are slowing down and I am getting everything back in order...including the blog.  I was too lazy to do a bunch of diff. posts so I just combined them.

Anticipating Halloween
So I got out her costumes in her closet cause I was bored tonight. I had fun dressing her up although I don't think she enjoyed it all that much. They were both a bit big on her causing her to fall over backwards a lot.
My baby bumble bee!
I got this at a garage sale for a dollar! I love it!
Hula Girl!
Her cheesy smile.
Sad she is stuck in a drawer. I just laughed.

Extreme Makeover: Holly Edition

We were doing a home spa night for mutual and we had done the face masks and stuff, which had gone well, then one of my girls came up to me. "Sis. Vasso, can I give you a makeover?" I knew going into it that it wasn't going to turn out too pretty. Jaden (the girl to my right) started out nicely and picked some nice soft colors, but soon I noticed she was putting lipstick outside my lips...but just a little, looking at me to make sure I wasn't going to stop her. Once she realized I was ok with it, the two others girls started and from then on out it was an attack!
They were smearing makeup on me left and right and writing things on my face with lipstick. You probably can't tell what it says  but "sis. vasso" is written on one side of my face with "harry potter" written on the other side with a lightning bolt down the middle of my forehead. I had to make a quick get away at this point otherwise I knew my face would end up just black...which it was close to anyhow. What I learned from this: makeup doesn't come off very easily. It was still on the next day even after showering. I love my girls!

Oatmeal face masks! Sadly it kept falling off in chunks down our shirts.

Girls Camp

So this is at girls camp, our theme was "Daughter of a King" and they brought up a bunch of old D.I. and prom dresses for everyone to dress up in, it was so much fun and they did an awesome banquet dinner as well. It was my first night to leave Maya and I must say it was a bit hard when I knew it was her bed time. But the fact that I stayed up till 4:30 talking to the other leaders helped me out a ton cause by the time I went to bed- I didn't even have time to think about my baby.

Hopefully you can tell which is me, I still get teased to death that I look just like my girls! ;)

static+hair=

She doesn't even look like the same baby to me!
Can we say...finger in socket?
Camille took maya out on the trampoline a few days ago. She was laying down and while camille started to jump a little the hair began to grow!

The Very Hungry Caterpillar

After sqeezing all the frosting off, she ripped the cupcake apart and actually ate quite a bit.

Chowin' down on her birthday cupcake!
The very hungry caterpillar cake.
I was surprised she actually kept this crown on, she toddled all around the house with it on.

I can't believe my baby girl is one year old! It has flown by so fast. Motherhood has been the hardest but the best thing that has happened to me. She is such a special girl who is so stubborn in her ways and very independent. We had her birthday party this last sunday and I have been thinking about what to do forever. (i get so excited about these types of things) I changed ideas a few times and finally landed on this one when I saw this cake on the internet. It was love at first sight.

She didn't nap well that day so I figured she would be grumpy for the party at 5:00. I put her in her high chair: she wanted to get out. We sang her happy birthday: she cried. I gave her a cupcake: she cheered right up.
Thanks Raili for decorating the living room, we had a great time. We are going to Utah today to drop off Raili at the Salt Lake Airport, I am so sad, but I know her fiance will be happy to see her. We love you!
